The Flying Accountant

A regional WA service concept from Stewart Private Accounting.

Accounting, tax and business advice for established regional companies and trusts, with ongoing remote support and in-person visits by arrangement.

Perth-based expertise, built around your regional business

Your business does not need to be based in Perth to work with Stewart Private Accounting. We support business owners through agreed remote accounting, tax and advisory services, with in-person meetings considered where the scope of the engagement makes a visit practical.

The Flying Accountant is our regional service concept, not a separate business or a network of local offices. Your engagement is with Stewart Private Accounting, led by Bradley Stewart, a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Tax Adviser and Registered Tax Agent with 20+ years of public accounting and consulting experience.

Support for companies, trusts and their business owners

This service is suited to established businesses seeking an ongoing accounting relationship, rather than a one-off visit alone. We start by understanding your structure, records, priorities and the support you need.

  • Company accounting and tax: annual financial statements, income tax returns, tax estimates and review of proposed business transactions within the agreed scope.
  • Trust accounting: accounts, trust returns, beneficiary records and distribution-planning discussions, with separate specialist or legal work identified where needed.
  • Bookkeeping, BAS and payroll: organised records, reconciliations and reporting, including an assessment of catch-up work.
  • Business advice: cash-flow forecasts, budgeting and performance discussions to help you understand the figures and plan your next steps.

Regional WA locations

We welcome enquiries from businesses in Albany, Busselton, Bunbury, Geraldton, Esperance, Margaret River and Kalgoorlie, as well as the surrounding regions. Tell us where your business operates and which entities need support.

These locations describe the regional service area, not additional offices. Our office is at Level 1, 9 The Esplanade, Perth WA 6000. Ongoing work can be handled remotely, with visit arrangements considered individually.

How remote support and in-person visits work

Remote support provides continuity between meetings. We agree how records will be shared, who is responsible for each task, the reporting you need and how we will communicate. Stewart Private Accounting is a Xero Platinum Partner; we can discuss your existing Xero records and any handover or clean-up needed.

For suitable business engagements, Bradley can travel to meet you in person, including travelling by air where appropriate. A visit might be useful when working through your business plans, reviewing performance or meeting the people responsible for the records.

Visits are by arrangement, not an automatic inclusion. We agree the purpose, timing, travel arrangements and any related fees before confirming a visit. Not every engagement or location requires air travel, and an initial discussion can take place remotely.

Changing accountants without losing track of the work

If you are considering a change, tell us what is working, what is missing and which obligations are unfinished. Your latest accounts and lodged returns, current accounting reports and any ATO correspondence help establish the starting point.

With your authority, we can discuss the relevant handover records and system access with your existing adviser. We agree who will complete outstanding accounts, tax returns, BAS and payroll work so responsibilities are clear. The timing depends on the available records, outstanding matters and agreed scope.

What happens in an initial consultation?

  1. Tell us about the business. Share your town or region, company or trust structure, current accounting system and the services you are looking for.
  2. Set priorities. Discuss upcoming deadlines, record quality, business plans and whether an in-person meeting would add value to an ongoing engagement.
  3. Agree the next step. We confirm the proposed work, responsibilities, fees and any visit arrangements before proceeding. There is no assumption that travel or separate advisory work is included.

You do not need to send full financial records with the first enquiry. We will confirm what is needed and the appropriate secure transfer method. Do not include tax file numbers, passwords or sensitive documents in the enquiry form.

Common questions

Do you have an office in my town?

Our office is in Perth. The regional locations above are places from which we welcome business enquiries, not branch offices.

Will Bradley visit every client?

Not automatically. We discuss whether a visit is appropriate for the engagement and agree its scope, timing, travel arrangements and any related fees beforehand.

Can we work together without an in-person visit?

Yes. We can discuss an ongoing remote engagement and agree the records, access and communication arrangements needed.

Can you look after both a trading company and a family trust?

Tell us about each entity and the work required. We assess the records and services for the group, then confirm what is included for each entity in the engagement.
