Small business accounting and tax services in Perth

Annual accounts, tax returns and practical support for the decisions behind your numbers.

Stewart Private Accounting helps Perth small business owners organise their accounting and tax work. Whether you need annual reporting, a tax-planning discussion or help getting your records in order, we start with your business and the work you need.

Getting started

  1. Tell us about your business. Outline your structure, accounting system, current arrangements and upcoming deadlines.
  2. Agree the work and fee. We discuss the services required, what is included and who is responsible for each part.
  3. Prepare the records. We confirm the information needed and secure transfer arrangements. If you are changing accountants, any handover with your current adviser requires your authority.

Accounting support for your business

Your business structure, records and plans shape the support you need. We agree the services, responsibilities and fees before work begins.

Common questions

What should I have ready for an initial discussion?

Start with your latest financial statements and tax return, the accounting software you use, and an outline of outstanding work. Let us know about major business changes and upcoming deadlines. We will confirm the detailed records needed for your engagement.

How much will the work cost?

We quote for the agreed work after considering your business structure, transaction volume, record quality and complexity. Confirm whether bookkeeping, BAS, payroll, tax planning and prior-year work are included or separately scoped.

Can you help if my records are behind?

Tell us which periods are incomplete and what records you have available. We assess the gaps before agreeing the catch-up work and timing. Missing information and unresolved issues can affect what is required.

When should I discuss tax planning?

Get in touch before a significant transaction or well ahead of year end. That gives us time to review your current figures and discuss the options relevant to your circumstances.

Can I also discuss my SMSF accounting?

Yes. Tell us about your existing fund and the accounting or reporting support you need. We arrange the SMSF audit through an independent auditor and will clarify the accounting work and audit arrangements when discussing your engagement.
